Sulfate Free Shampoos: Wanted

I am doing a post about Sulfate (Sulphate) Free Shampoos and I would like it to be relevant to you!

If you use an SLS free shampoo or sulfate free shampoo, please name it in the comment box so that I can look up the leading cleaning ingredient in it.

This way I will not blather on about things that you do not use.

Thank you!

Update: Thanks for the huge response. I am now closing the comment box......hope you got yours in on time!

  34. Forgot to add this:

Do sulfates in shampoos have any health effects e.g. maybe association with cancer as some claim? Is there any benefit in using organic shampoos and conditioners as opposed to say those made from natural derived ingredients that are not certified organic?

  43. I use two shampoos from JASON: the jojoba and the sea kelp. I have also used the biotin one. My kids love all three. I have included the link below to help you find it - this is not a product plug - I am in no way affiliated with them but I don't think anyone else here has mentioned it so maybe it's a bit more obscure than the others?

  47. I use burt bees Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet Shampoo. I know this sounds crazy but sometimes when I can't find the super shiny grapefruit & sugar shampoo. I substitute it with on of burt's bees body washes, I use the fabulously fresh peppermint & rosemary one. The ingredients are very similar to the shampoo. Is it bad to use a body wash on your hair and scalp?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No, a body wash can be used as a shampoo and even vice versa. In general body washes are made slightly stronger than shampoos and tend not to contain ingredients to condition in as high quantities. However this is a general rule, nowadays with many products aiming not to completely remove oil from hair or skin, it is possible to find a body wash that can be used as a shampoo. Johnson and Johnsons top to toe baby wash is an example.
