CWK Update - I got my Refund!

Do you recall this article -  Were the CWK Girls Straight Plates a Scam?

Here is an update - I received a refund just before Christmas! There was general email from the CWK kickstarter sent on 13th Dec saying that 30 refunds were left to do. It appears I was one of these 30 people.

Have you received your refund if you contributed to the kickstarter? Are we ready to officially say that it was not a scam?

  1. Apparently they finally have these in stock according to an instagram post that I saw recently. They had 500 starter sets available.

  2. I got my refund. I never believed it was a scam - it's hard to start up something and you may have the best intentions in the world but there is always someone to try and pull you down. I hope she finds another way to come out with the CWK plates. I would still back her.

  3. I was wondering if you had ever gotten your refund! Also, did you see the new plates they developed -- with the curler on the end? What's your take on the re-vamped device?

  4. Rece as Andrea says, there are plates available to purchase with delivery only to the US. I personally am not purchasing anything yet I will wait for the product to be out for atleast a year or more and see if the business is handled better (i.e good customer service, good responses, product delivered etd) but I am still letting you know since you say you would still back her. Check out her website CWKgirls.com

Christina I have seen those on the website. I actually do not like their construction or the results shown. I think a traditional roller set would give a better result i.e Use the straight plates first to stretch out the hair and then roller set if you want a curl/lift.

  5. I got an email from Kelechi about advertising her product, now called the SSS Starter Set. I wasn't sure about it - the website just didn't look very professional to me and I wanted to see a better video of the product. Seeing your posts on the CWK Saga now makes me even more wary.

  6. I bought them and it didn't do much for me unfortunately. Some of my plates already had tears in them and were breaking. When I put the ones that weren't already broken in my hair, they kept opening or sliding down. I think it *might* work if you put on add-ons such as clamps to keep the plates closed and from sliding down the hair.

  7. Berry, maybe you can go over to Kiki's site, she has purchased and reviewed them in great detail! Kiki thank you so much for commenting and letting us know about your purchase!

The link to the article on Kiki's blog is http://mymhfj.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/sss-starter-pack-plates-review.html

  8. I think that for other people it might work better and maybe with improved technique and add-ons i can get it to work BUT it hasn't worked as well for me as it is advertised so far. Thanks for sharing my link! I hope it helps
