Playing Favourites: How often do you change conditioner?

This is product madness week. Your replies are coming in thick and fast for our one product post - If you have not done it yet - go go go now - here!

The next question I have is when did you last try a new conditioner. I am picking conditioner because it is our number one obsession! Here are the questions

1. What is your current favourite?
2. How long ago did you buy a different conditioner?
3. What new conditioner did you buy?
4. Why did you buy the new conditioner?
5. Would you repurchase the new conditioner and why?
6. Could your new conditioner become a favourite?

My answers

1. Hello Hydration Mask (in a jar)
2. About 2-3 months ago
3. Tresemme Naturals
4. Lots of raving about it saying it works like hello hydration without silicone
5. No, it does not have sufficient slip for me. I want silicone.
6. No

  1. 1. What is your current favourite?
currently i love Crown Pride Naturals Avocado Detangling Conditioner

    2. How long ago did you buy a different conditioner?
    Last month (February)

    3. What new conditioner did you buy?
hahaha, many many! Giovanni's conditioners (all of them), Curls Curlada, Yes To Cucumbers (a staple always in rotation), Carol's Daughter Hairl Milk Curl Perfecting Cond, and Tresemmé Naturals

    4. Why did you buy the new conditioner?
I am a PJ, and although i already have staples, i like to try new ones!

    5. Would you repurchase the new conditioner and why?
Well, i would repurchase Tresemmé, Yes to Cucumbers, and so far the giovanni's smooth as silk, boo booo to Carol's Daughter!

    6. Could you new conditioner become a favourite?
The Tresemmé has become a favourite and the SAS from giovanni might too!

  2. 1. What is your current favourite?

I'd say the Trésemme Naturals Nourishing, though I wish it were a bit more strengthening.

    2. How long ago did you buy a different conditioner?

Eh, I got one during the Christms break - so about 3 months ago.

    3. What new conditioner did you buy?

L'oreal Elvive Nutri-gloss Revive Masque (I don't even have the tub with me and I know it off by heart - I need to get out more! *sad sigh*)

    4. Why did you buy the new conditioner?

I thought I needed a DC and it had Behemontrimum Chloride, the cheaper version of Behmeontrimum MethoSulfate and I wanted to see if my hair liked it.

    5. Would you repurchase the new conditioner and why?

Not really. It's okay, but the glitter in it (yes, I sai glitter!) makes my hands look sill y after using it. I don't need shiny hands! Plus, I don't realy need a DC anyway.

    6. Could you new conditioner become a favourite?

Naaaaah. I have to keep on souping it up with castor and coconut oil when I need a DC - might as well skip it and keep it simple!

    6. Could you new conditioner become a favourite? No, I don't find KCKT good for in shower conditioning.

    2. How long ago did you buy a different conditioner? 1 month ago
    3. What new conditioner did you buy? Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle
    4. Why did you buy the new conditioner? Always read about it and wanted to try it.
    5. Would you repurchase the new conditioner and why? Yes I already have, I use it after my cowash or shampoo and conditioner, it defrizzes my curls and make them a bit smoother also with great texture. My hair feels very soft.
    6. Could your new conditioner become a favourite? Yes because I can go into any store and get it. I love that and Suave Professionals, Humectant, Moisture Humectant and Almond & Shea... all old formulas.

    1. current favourite:
J Frieda Frizz-Ease Erste Hilfe Glättungs Conditioner / name in the UK: Straight Ahead style-activating daily conditioner
    2. How long ago did you buy a different conditioner?
    Last month
    3. What new conditioner did you buy?
    Aussie Miracle Moist
    4. Why did you buy the new conditioner?
Just for the excitement. Whenever I'm in UK I buy beauty things we don't have here =)
    5. Would you repurchase the new conditioner and why?
No, not enough slip, but I did repurchase my last year's UK souvenir, Organix nourishing Coconut milk conditioner. It smells so gooooood!
    6. Could your new conditioner become a favourite?
No, the Aussie doesn't compare at all. The Organix could have been a favourite if it wasn't for Frieda, which gives me more slip, and is in the same price range, so I'll stick to Frieda. But the Organix smell is heaven, so whenever I'm in UK I will stock up =9 ...

  15. Anon with the question on whether coconut oil on the scalp will harm you - I encourage everyone to be in charge of your own hair and scalp. I use huge amounts of coconut oil especially the night before swimming and it has never affected me. However others have reported allergies and itchiness. You have to observe and see what it does to your hair. At the first hint of a problem, take action.

  16. 1. Giovanni 50/50
    2. March
    3. Oyin Honey Hemp

  17. 1. Tresemme Naturals Nourishing
    2. about 6 weeks ago
    3. Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner
    4. Because it's a deep conditioner and I wanted to see if using a commercial deep conditioner would benefit my hair
    5. Meh, probably not. I don't think that deep conditioning with this stuff really made any big difference to my hair
    6. Nope. I'm not a big fan of it, and I'm actually kind of mad at myself now for buying a bottle of this instead of just one or two of the little one use sachets to try it out.

Overall, when it comes to regular rinse-out conditioners, I'm basically looking for whatever costs least. Here in the UK I buy whatever conditioner is on offer at Boots/Superdrug/Tesco, and that's worked out for me so far, with the Tresemme Naturals and before that HEHH. When I'm at home (in the Caribbean) I buy VO5 Moisture Milks because they're pretty much the cheapest thing available and they get the job done.

  23. 1. What is your current favourite?
Cholesterol, I guess. Probably the Lustrasilk Shea Butter one?

    2. How long ago did you buy a different conditioner?
I think the last time I bought a new conditioner was in December. As of the beginning of 2011, I'm not allowing myself to buy ANY new hair stuff until I use up what I've got, which should last me the rest of the year.

    3. What new conditioner did you buy?
A few different things from Bear Fruit Hair, during their holiday sale.

    4. Why did you buy the new conditioner?
I couldn't resist the sale prices, after seeing the quality of the ingredients. Sigh.

    5. Would you repurchase the new conditioner and why?
I don't know yet, because I'm still using some others and haven't even tried them!

    6. Could your new conditioner become a favourite?
Sure. Anything is possible. NO conditioner has really rocked my world, just yet.

    4. Why did you buy the new conditioner?
looking for a conditioner without parabens

    5. Would you repurchase the new conditioner and why?
yes to carrots: yes. the others: no. it's all about the slip, because I detangle my hair during the conditioning stage and i need lots of slip. i even add castor oil to increase slippage but for some conditioners it is still not enough.

    6. Could your new conditioner become a favourite?
no, i'm going to keep trying different conditioners.

    5. Would you repurchase the new conditioner and why?

    6. Could your new conditioner become a favourite?
