More on Silk Scarves

From the previous post on silk scarves I promised a pic on the headband I was talking about to hold down the silk scarf. First though there's a great review on the 'pretty wrap' which starts at about $20 and has an integrated cap so it looks cuter than a bonnet. You can see this over at Kinky Rhonnie's Spot If you already have a silk scarf and are struggling to keep it on, then I suggest a band outside the scarf. The brand name in UK is scunci but I'm certain there are similar bands by different companies . The main thing about it is that it is small about 1cm(1/4 inch) thick with a silicone strip (see the first picture). All you need to do is place the band on the perimeter of the scarf. The band provides friction resistance allowing the scarf to stay in place.

  1. I found changing where the knot was helped immensely. Before, I would always knot it at the base of my skull but that would always slip off in my sleep. So I switched it to the front, and it hasn't come off since :)

  2. Scunci is available stateside. Also Goody makes similar headbands. I don't find the elastic in the Goody bands to be that durable, and I have never tried the Scunci brand bands.

  4. I have tried the scunci headband with the silicone strip 2x and both times my scarf stayed on. Tonight will be the 3rd time. Thank You & I love the Blog.

  5. I use a bonnet that I purchased from Pretty AnntoiNet's (prettyanntoinets.com). They also have head band wraps, beanies and scarves. Great quality and excellent customer service.
